covid-19_instant_tracing's Issues

Less invasive, parallel method

WiFi hotspots are able to efficiently profile and localise devices, especially in public spaces where most of the spreading happens. Because some devices broadcast probe requests even when unconnected, this can work without a connection to the hotspot.

In countries where the app is regarded as an invasion of privacy, have the authors considered networks of packet sniffers to locate possible cases?

Has anyone started work on an open source app?

Hi,

I read your idea for a contact tracer app with interest and wondered if we could be of assistance. I run Internet businesses in the UK, and have some experience with app development.

I was originally thinking that a contact tracer app could listen for all bluetooth devices it comes in contact with, and record them in an internal database. If an app user becomes infected with COVID-19 they could then send a report to a central server with their own device mac address, which would then be synchronised to all app users and cross referenced with their internal DBs so you could alert all close contacts.

However, we are not experts with Bluetooth and we have been learning that it does have some privacy features which may randomise the mac addresses used. The implementations seem to vary between iOS and Android, so we have started looking at other nearby messaging frameworks to see what could be used.

Is there anyone already looking at this that we could coordinate our efforts with?

Regards,

Paul Maunders

Dashboard - Administration View

Any thoughts on what a dashboard would look like - Say:
Overview:
Meta data (number of cases, frequency, ratios), Map overlay with hotspots, time series of cases, Curve to visualize gain from digital contact tracing (compared to manual)
Drill-down views:
Individual cases, redacted identity, Traces, clusters, timestamps, paths
Actions:
Contact, push notification, send custom message, alert/notify, escalate, reports

sim parameter settings for main scenarios

To make it easier to reproduce the results in this report would it be possible for you to post files with the full set of sim parameter settings used in the main scenarios, thanks.

Pulling together a team

Hi Guys,
I've been busy networking up a large team of epidemiologists across Europe.. I've also noticed that there are several projects started on GH..

I'd be keen on getting people onto a single project, however one of the first key things is to get a clear MVP set of features.. I recommend we model closely on TraceTogether - with possibly a more felxible solution around access to the contact list - keep in mind Europe in particular will be very nervous if there is identifiable data held outside of EU
