--prefix option for compilation should be pointing to the device install path, not the build machine temporary install path. Using DESTDIR is probably the way to go. This blog post points out the way to avoid linking problems when using dynamic linking.

At the moment, modules install path is defined by something like $MOD_INSTALL_PATH/lib/modules/$KERNELRELEASE

The problem is that this path cannot be guessed from environment variables, and therefore module path on device is unknown. It would be great to be able to install them on $MOD_INSTALL_PATH/lib/modules instead.

In order not to have to install busybox or flash complete custom system image, creating an image in order to install lttng by flashing would be great

This should be set through configuration step.

As some people may not already have NDK and SDK on there computer, it would be nice to have something like :

make sdk
make ndk

which would create a child folder and download NDK/SDK. This way, if SDK or NDK environment variables are not defined, it would be defaulted to those locations.
