Overview
--------

Media Validation Tools (MVT) consist in a collection of programs to
test conformance of VA-API based decoders in native, or simulated
environments.


Features
--------

  * FFmpeg decoders, including VA-API support
  * GStreamer decoders, including VA-API support
  * Reference software decoders that use FFmpeg demuxers
    + VP8/VP9 (libvpx) decoder
    + H.264 AVC (JM) decoder


Requirements
------------

Software requirements

  * GStreamer 1.2.x:
      libglib2.0-dev (>= 2.28)
      libgstreamer1.0-dev (>= 1.2.0)
      libgstreamer-plugins-bad1.0-dev (>= 1.2.0)


Usage
-----

  * Run all supported tests with FFmpeg
  $ mvt_run --decoder=ffmpeg -o out.ffmpeg

  * Run all H.264 conformance tests with gstreamer-vaapi, and excluding MVC
  $ mvt_run --decoder=gstreamer --vaapi -o out.gstreamer.vaapi -x "*MVC*" \
      /path/to/MVT/tests/h264/conformance

  * Run the reference H.264 AVC (JM) decoder on a particular file
  $ gen_ref_h264_avc -r ref /path/to/video.mp4
