Saw the draft story url show up when it hasn't even launched yet.

Need to figure out what a v1 media kit would look like. Need to research this. Should probably include:

• simple default sized web logos
• the rich versions of the logos (probably not every color combo we have)
• about copy of the company
• about copy of me
• list of website and social links

The current website does not express the recent decision to focus on technical meetup groups and lessen the promotion of privacy and data ownership as the main reasons to consider Guildflow.

To help validate this decision and create a space to discuss what issues these meetups face and my ideas to solve them I want to do a larger update of the website explaining the features I have in mind.

I may accompany these features with some mockup visuals to help express the vision but I welcome feedback even now on the general direction and wording. Thanks.

Speakers spend hours crafting quality presentations for your group, and Guildflow makes it easy to document, index and archive these talks, allowing you to create and attach Presentations to an Event. as well as archive assets like pdfs, slides, videos and Markdown notes.

Spend more time on group activities via automating admin tasks.

Running a meetup group is not a huge time commitment but instead a lot of small tasks over time. Guildflow helps you identify, organize and share these tasks amongst the group leadership. Have common things to do per meeting? Or per new member? Or per inactive member? Guildflow helps connect the common lifecycle events of a meetup group to actionable tasks that can be shared, assigned and if possible automated (sending emails, tweets, requesting slides, etc.).

Motivate speakers through a personal resumes of technical presentations and projects.

Wow friends and potential employers with a rich resume-like index of technical presentations you’ve delivered across multiple technical meetups. Use this public profile to also share your apps, side projects and blogs.

Utilize an open API and tool integrations to create a custom and unique web of community tools.

Guildflow helps meetup groups define a home base of operations, but it would be ignorant to think Guildflow can be all things to all people. We embrace open interrogations and help you connect with your unique choice of tools. Slack or Discord for chat, YouTube or Vimeo for videos, Twitter or Micro.blog for marketing. Or use our API and lifecycle webhooks to build your own interrogations. You have access to your full membership data.

And all the rest you’d expect!

• Build and share an event calendar with RSVPs.
• Limit Video Chat URLs sharing to RSVPed members.
• Provide a tech-focused membership directory so people can learn more about each other.
• Create a custom Membership Application to capture background info before letting unverified people get group access.
• Publish custom pages to help document things like code of conduct
• Honor the privacy and data ownership rights of your members with clear policy and exports.

I took at shot at this today and failed miserably. If anyone knows how to do this, let me know.

Made some improvements today with raw image size improvements, but more to do.

Problem areas:

• Those vimeo players are expensive.
• Thumbnails could be smaller and better match the render size. Would like to keep an @2x option. (Also the thumbs and screenshots in general feel more blurry than they should be.)
• Add a better caching policy for assets (not load time specific help, but good practice).

Two big groups of screenshots:

• Member Experience
• Admin Experience

Two big tasks:

• Create demo group data in the dev environment to accommodate screenshot requirements.
  • Issue: Right now the sample movietime lacks real human avatars.
• Take screenshots
  • Issue: might need to update these in time but I think we have enough experience to get started.
• Build screenshot gallery layouts in Hugo on marketing website.
• These need to work well on mobile. (swipe gesture)
• Might be samples out there we can build on top of.

Since the marketing site does use Clicky to do basic analytics we need to add one of those lame "we use cookies popup banners.

I want to keep it small and not the full width of the site. I'll try to find some references we can base this on.

We don't have enough active beta testers so that is a blocker to this.

Should explain how to setup the site to run on local machine.
