What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Configure Windows XP to show bold fonts in window UI elements
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Bold fonts should be used, however normal fonts, with increased character
spacing are shown instead. Please refer to the first two attachments
showing the Firefox titlebar, with/without bold fonts.
What version of gdipp are you using? On what operating system (with
bitness)?
gdipp 0.7.2
Windows XP SP3 32bit (Ja)
Please provide any additional information below.
First, thank you for fixing the font manager to work correctly in Windows
XP, and for cleaning-up the online documentation. Everything appears to be
functioning correctly, however elements of the Windows GUI that are set to
be shown in Bold display as normal text, yet with larger spacing between
characters.
In order to set bold fonts, use the Windows XP 'Appearance' dialogue (from
the right-mouse 'Desktop Properties' applet), select a UI element, then
enable/disable the bold control ('B' button). Note that I am using 'Lucida
Grande' font, however the same thing happens with standard Windows fonts
such as Tahoma etc.
Cheers,
James

I realise that you are not supporting Windows XP, however gdipp appears to
be working reasonable well on this system so far.
I suspect this issue is related to the way chrome.exe handles processes
('HookChildProcess' is required in gdi++).

Which program triggers the problem? Specify the filename if possible.
latest Dev Google chrome 5.0.375.9, or latest chromeplus 1.3.9.0
The version number does not matter, the problem is there for a long time.

1. Start the browser after a fresh start of PC, with high probability, an
error box bumps in, saying chrome.exe crashed.
or
1. Even if I can start the browser successfully, after some time of idle, I

As per the summary title, I would like to request that the 'Saturation' and
'FontLink' functionality from gdi++ is implemented in gdipp.
My gdi++ settings file is attached for reference.
- I use a value of Saturation=8, which gives the text a slightly softer
appearance.
- I use the 'FontLink' functionality to ensure that gdi++ renders Japanese
elements that are sometimes ignored (Explorer filenames, folder tree
list/desktop, some menus). Note that without the 'FontLink' configuration
entries, gdi++ behaves like gdipp.
I realise that Windows XP is not officially supported by this project,
however functionality is very nearly perfect, thus I would like to
encourage the developers to resolve the remaining minor XP issues, if
possible.

CCC.exe
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Install gdipp v0.7.6
2.Reboot
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
CCC ran OK under previous versions of gdipp. (There were a few hiccups with
0.7.3, but these -- on the whole -- were sporadic.)
This is only an issue during boot-up. I have gdipp installed as 32- and
64-bit Windows services. During boot, I think the issue is that the gdipp
service starts up before CCC (or the CCC runtime) launches. If I stop the
gdipp service (64-bit), restart the CCC runtime, and *then* restart the
gdipp (64-bit) service, everything works fine. It's only an issue during boot.

happens to lots of applications, for example the address bar of google

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Modify config file
2. Restart service for this to take effect
3. All running processes lose their rendering and must be restarted
Is there a way to force gdipp to reread its config file for changes I have
made? The problem is that when I shutdown service, all running apps lose
rendering and must be restarted. With Unix apps usually you can send a HUP
signal to get them to reread their config without restarting.
Or, is there a way for gdipp to inject itself into running processes the
way GDI++ was able to?

Not sure. Explorer.exe?
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Install gdipp_x64_0.7.4.msi
2.Enable font smoothing/Turn on gdipp service
3.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I've attached screenshots of behavior in previous versions of gdipp and
behavior in the 0.7.4 release. Long story short: taskbar text is un-bolded.
In previous versions, taskbar text was (a) bolded for both active and
inactive windows and (b) effectively smoothed. Here, condition (b) still
obtains, but condition (a) is no longer operable.
What version of gdipp are you using? On what operating system (bitness)?
0.7.4 (x64) on Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (SP2) 64-bit

Appreciate all of the hard work. Thank you so very much!
