bug

The rendering of NPC and character models in Galaxy mods is wrong, and it is black. Deleting this mods is normal.

Mods seems to have many bugs

I am very grateful to the author for developing this mod, which obviously improves FPS. It is one of the few optimized MODS in 1.12.2. I hope the author can make this mod perfect in my lifetime.

Bug: do not turn on the parallel illumination model to blacken.

Texture animation errors with Nothirium and OptiFine

Describe the bug
If you enable smart texture animation in OptiFine, then all textures will stop animating at all

Reproducibility

  • I reproduced this issue with as few other mods as possible installed.
  • I am unable to reproduce this issue consistently.

To Reproduce

  1. Go to game world
  2. Look on water or lava block
  3. Pause game and go to OptiFine settings
  4. Turn on Smart Animations
  5. Back to game
  6. Look on water or lava block

There are visual errors with Nothirium and it worsens if you have Astral Sorcery installed. The above gif was taken with the installed mods above.

This gif was taken without any of the above mods installed. Tthere aren't any visual errors not to mention that the caves & such have darkness.

Note that even if Baubles & Astral Sorcery isn't installed... you can still get some of the rendering issues though it looks to be only in caves but you still get the missing lighting issue. In both gifs I was using Spectator Mode to get a better view. The log & debug files are with the above mods being installed.

Update notirium-1.12.2-0.1.8 questions

Incompatibility with Fluidlogged-Api

Describe the bug
When Fluidlogged-Api and Nothirium installed together water and any kind of fluids are not visible on fluid-logged blocks. Reproduceable with only both mods.

To Reproduce

  1. Install Fluidlogged-Api and Nothirium with dependency in same instance
  2. Join any world
  3. Waterlog any blocks and see if water is visible

Nothirium Prevents Optifine from Disabling Fog (Minor Bug)

Describe the bug
Having Nothirium installed causes this minor bug in Optifine that forces the game to be run on "Fancy Fog." Setting to Fast specifically on the Fog option in Optifine loads the fog as expected for normal Optifine but with the setting set to Off, fog loads with the fancy specifications. Optifine only issue as using the NoFog mod on Curse does not seem to have the same issue. Hopefully didn't miss anything that could be a variable in the issue except maybe the resource packs I used.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Have Nothirium and dependencies installed with Optifine (Versions specified below)
  2. Load the game and go to Video Settings -> Details -> Fog: OFF
  3. Create a world and load into it
  4. You will find that the fog is still there despite the option being on OFF

LagGoggles incompatibility when installed along CTM and Farseek

Describe the bug

I installed Nothirium along with RenderLib, Mixin 0.7-0.8 compatibility, and MixinBooter into the modpack "Epoch Runner" and the game crashed on launch with Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/minecraft/client/renderer/entity/RenderManager

Usually an error like that means I'm missing something even though I installed all the right dependencies for Nothirium

Reproducibility

  • I reproduced this issue with as few other mods as possible installed.
  • I am unable to reproduce this issue consistently.

To Reproduce

  1. Download the modpack Epoch Runner
  2. Enable content management for the profile
  3. Install Nothirium and it's dependencies
  4. Launch the game and the crash should happen

GregTech Crash

Crash happens when joining a world with Nothirium and GTCEu installed. Log file is attached below. Blames GTCEu's bloom for some reason, but I have every single shader and bloom effect turned off in the config of GT.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install GregTech CE: Unofficial (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/gregtech-ce-unofficial)

Chunks become invisible when camera Y level is above 270 or below 0

Describe the bug
Many chunks become invisible when camera Y level is above 270 or below 0 due to broken culling.

Reproducibility

  • I reproduced this issue with as few other mods as possible installed.

To Reproduce

  1. Open any world.
  2. Change render distance to 16 or higher in order to make the issue obvious.
  3. Get to high Y level by executing /tp @s ~ 270 ~.
  4. Fly up by a little bit.
    ❎ The terrain below become suddenly invisible.
  5. Get below 0 by executing /tp @s ~ -10 ~.
  6. Fly around.
    ❎ Only the chunk above the player's position will show. There may be a chance that chunks flicker.

Describe the bug
After loading the world the tower looked like this

Entity rendering bug in Fogger mod.

Describe the bug
The mod seems to be incompatible with the Fogger mod in 2 different ways. The first one is: If the fog radius is set to low number, all entities will render very wacky and almost glow in the dark because of the fog overlay.

Nothirium conflict with Vanillafix

Describe the bug
Apparently there is a conflict between Nothirium and the Vanillafix mod, because when both mods are active, the ME controller animation no longer works.
The animation is only updated when something changes in the network, e.g. when you remove an ME cable that is connected to a machine or something else, or when you plug a cable back in, or when you connect other ME controllers to the ME controller, because this updates the network
Deactivating Nothirium or Vanillafix it works fine again

Edit: It seems that this problem is related to the texture optimization feature of VanillaFix, because if you disable it, the animation works again.
I don't know why this is and what causes the conflict in this function.

Lighting seems to have issues at chunk boundaries.

  1. Create a world (I used seed -6470902367589166637).
  2. Fly around.

Render distance bug in Fogger mod.

Describe the bug
The mod seems to be incompatible with the Fogger mod in 2 different ways. The second one is: Nothirium ignores set render distance in the video options menu when the Fogger is installed. Nothirium will scale the number depending on the option in the Fogger which is called "DefaultWhereTheFogEnds". For example if I will set it to 24 blocks, then Nothirium would render only 3 chunks in the game, even if my render distance is set much higher. Although entities are still interacting with the world in the invisible chunks.

Invisible entity blocks when used with valkyrien skies

Describe the bug
Anytime you assemble a ship, the engines, the cables, the physics infuser, chests, any sort of block that's animated or an like an entity will be invisible when Nothirium is installed.

Update
In the latest versions of the mod it seems that now everything is invisble, whether the ship is assembled or not. Chests, physics infusers all entityblocks it seems.

Reproducibility
You can simply reproduce the bug by having valkyrien skies and any version of this mod installed, along with renderlib and it will do the same thing as I described above.

To Reproduce

  1. install valkyrien skies
  2. install nothirium and renderlib
  3. Load the game and watch as the entityblocks such as the compressors disappear and chests are rendered invisible

FPS reduction when working together with Thermal Foundation

Describe the bug
When I install Nothirium or Nothirium + Optifine I see great fps, but when I add Thermal Foundation the fps is more than halved.

Please keep in mind that I most likely don't know how other mods involved in this issue work. Thus terms like "Go to dimension X" should be explained in more detail because I probably don't know how to do that.

  1. Install Nothirium (or Nothirium + Optifine)
  2. Install Thermal Foundation
  3. See performance degradation

Block textures not animated with VanillaFix

water, lava and i would assume other animated textures

animate erratically sometimes a couple frames slowly, sometimes completely frozen

[Bug] Incompatibility with Optifine's Dynamic Lights

Describe the bug
When you use Nothirium and Optifine (with the configuration of "Dynamic Lights" enabled) you won't get the expected effect of dynamic lights

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Enable the Dynamic Lights config options
  2. Go to a dark place (or wait to the night)
  3. Hold a torch in your hand
  4. See error

Additional Information
this bug with lighting occurs on all versions of minecraft up to 1 17
The only mods that fix it are triangulator and sodium
This bug greatly spoils the game with shaders and buildings, especially with torches or steps
at the moment it does not fix more than one mod on 1 12 2
I really hope that this bug will be fixed.
As a perfectionist, I don't like it.

crash with chunk animator 1.2.1

Describe the bug
After world loading, sky blue color fills the screen and some seconds later, crash happens

Also, without chunk animator, crash doesn't happen

Spectator mode breaks with nothirium

Describe the bug
When going inside blocks (such as viewing underground areas) various parts of the world have a "pop in" effect, this does not happen when the mod is not installed

Incompatibility with iChun's Portal Guns

Describe the bug
Weird rendering glitches appear when looking anywhere near a portal. The moment the portal goes out of sight, the rendering glitches disappear. No further corruption appears to happen.

Reproducibility

  • I reproduced this issue with as few other mods as possible installed.

To Reproduce

  1. Use any portal gun to shoot a portal anywhere in the Overworld (only dimension tested)
  2. Look at either portal
  3. Glitches appear (e.g. water disappears)

Workaround
iChun's portal mod is not open source. However, by disabling the "See through portals" option in the provided config file, the bug disappears.
