i just compiled your v1.3 on Linux and it runs fine in CuteChess ! In your README you state (just at the bottom of the page) the opening book can be disabled, but in CuteChess -using UCI mode- i see no option for it .. Normally i disable any opening book with any engine .. can it be done by some option at the command line in CuteChess setup ? I think you should fix this.

I managed to compile your CPP source files into a valid Linux 64-bit binary (i'm on Xubuntu 20.04).
Now Chess0 plays in terminal but not in a GUI -- i tested CuteChess and its debug log shows that Chess0 does not understand the "long algebraic notation" like "d2d4" : Chess0 only expects "d4" and does in/output its moves also like this (and eg. Ng1-f3 is "Nf3" in Chess0).

Your README states Chess0 is for Xboard, but this protocol uses long algebraic notation, although it can act with "short algebraic notation" (SAN) with the option -fSAN or -sSAN on the command line (this is what i read, i did not test it, i prefer UCI engines). In the code of displaymove.cpp i see how you implemented SAN, but it should be changed ..

If you are curious how i hacked your code to create my Linux binary, let me know.
