This mod replaces the ingame worldmap with a large, new worldmap. It is used especially for the Megamodification (BGT, TDD, SOS, CtB, TS, DSotSC, NTotSC, SoBH, Drizzt Saga...) or partial installations of the Megamodification. It also includes a full set of coloured map icons. The mod offers the choice between two different worldmap sizes: large and huge. Either of these two worldmaps can be used for BG1, BG2 and ToB. Alternatively, a smaller, specially prepared worldmap can be used for ToB.

Issue with Drizzt Saga

Hello,
Small glitch with Drizzt Saga:

My weidus (BGI and BGII) logs
weidus.zip
are attached.

It may be related to the fact I started the game with Worldmap 11 installed, and then I made a new install with Worldmap 12 and continued to use the same game, don't know, but maybe worth checking.

Clearer Screenshot comparisons?

Would it be possible to compare the vanilla screenshot of the worldmap on BG2EE
with the changed Worldmap? From the current two screenshots I can not really
understand what has changed; that seems to be for BG1? Or perhaps I am just
confused, but I seem to remember the worldmap in a vanilla game would be
different.

Save game converter?

README talks about the save game converter to run after uninstalling the mod.
I am unable to find it, is it included with this repo?

BP-BGT-WOLDMAP installer: Small Worldmap 4900x3500 and Drizzt Saga mod

With the last version of worldmap (10.2.6), it is no more possible to install the Small Worldmap 4900x3500 version with Drizzt Saga installed; Without prompting, the installer chooses the Large Worldmap 8000x6300.

However, and for Drizzt Saga, the auto-installation of the Large Worldmap is not mandatory as the Small Worldmap 4900x3500 has the needed area in the top left corner...

Cannot install latest version from master brach

I tried to install the latest version of the mod from master branch and it failed with the error:

ERROR: [bp-bgt-worldmap/language/a7tileconv_WORLDMAP_LARGE/WORLDMAP_LARGE.mos] has size 63121524: TOO BIG FOR WEIDU (max 16777211)
ERROR: error loading [bp-bgt-worldmap/language/a7tileconv_WORLDMAP_LARGE/WORLDMAP_LARGE.mos]

I used one of the previous commits, e.g. state after commit 0ceaf8a works fine for me.

Oddities: some add-on maps vanish, though this may be due to weidu

So I install quite many mods, and I think some mods are causing issues.

I just played another runthrough, but suddenly I could no longer go to Innershade - that mod from Lava.

When I click on it, and go to travel, nothing changes and instead I am at the starting position, aka from
where I tried to walk to Innershade. I could go to it before with the same run (see the caveat soon).

Then, just recently, I noticed that the silent swamp, another Lava mod, disappeared. I visited it before.

Now ... this may be unrelated to the worldmap mod, because I had another issue with tactics remix
(AGAIN). So I tried to re-install it. Weidu, being the garbage tool it is (sorry to say so but it is true),
then went ahead and reinstalled everything. And then things are missing suddenly ... including entries
on the map. So I am not sure this is worldmap's fault - may be weidu and perhaps a mod acting up.
I have some faulty descriptions of items as well. But I think in some ways weidu is also at fault here
since it seems to overwrite things, even IF faulty mods cause that issue.

Innershade may be an issue with the map; something is buggy with it. It takes like 3 seconds before
I can move after I rest there. But perhaps it is also semi-related to the worldmap, so who knows - I
am just reporting this here in the event someone else runs into issues of entries on the map suddenly
vanishing again. Would be kind of nice if we could also get a world-map item, so we could still visit
such places, even if the main map is acting up. (Reason I think weidu is at fault too is because when
it decides to reinstall things, things simply vanish, including from my item; I had a custom book that
raises wis or int, and after weidu reinstalled everything, without anyone telling it to do so , that
vanished too. A shame the game is probably too old to see someone coming up with a viable
alternative to weidu.)

Worldmap Readme Icon/Image Links Broken

Greetings!

The links to the icons/pictures in this mod's readme are broken, and these images seem to be the only official way to distinguish one type of install from another. May we get this fixed?

Feature request: New icons for NWN mod

Hi, I am working on making a weidu mod (repeating NWN plot) from the assembly made by AGKanevchev. As far as I understood if BP-BGT-Worldmap is installed after a mod, all the icons should be in the BP-BGT-Worldmap itself. Thus, is it possible to add 5 icons for Neverwinter districts? They can be taken from the attached BAM file with numbers 107-111 (last 5 animations).

Is it possible to add iwd1-eet and iwd2-eet icons to the mod?

It is not an issue, but rather a feature request.

There are two mods that works only with EET: iwd1-eet and iwd2-eet (https://github.com/11jo/IWD1_EET, https://github.com/11jo/IWD2_EET) made by Tipun from https://arcanecoast.ru/. They add the whole iwd1, iwd2 stories to EET. After installing these two mods another mod for Worldmap (https://github.com/11jo/Worldmap_IWD_EET) should be installed to add icons and locations for IWD content.

Is it possible to add all icons and locations from Worldmap_IWD_EET to this mod, so there is no need in Worldmap_IWD_EET mod at all? Or maybe it is already done to some extent...
Tipun said that he had sent all the necessary information before to somebody, but he is not sure, what is the current state...

One issue; and one suggestion

I played with the huge worldmap. The map actually makes more sense than the
default one. However had, it was pixelized rather than sharp, and quite huge.

Would a variant of the worldmap be possible that is "merely" an extension of
the default one?

Anyway. Last time I played through, a few days ago now, I could finally go to
the areas installed by "Check the Bodies". \o/

I think that was due to the map.

Unfortunately, even after finding mazzy's note, and "your world map was
updated", I could not find the ruins. They just would not show up. I thought
the worldmap was responsible, so I uninstalled it. But leaving an area led
to a freeze of the game; I think uninstalling is broken. Would it be possible
to leave in place the original map? Or, even better, if we could toggle
which world map to use? This may be the most elegant variant if that were
possible.

It's kind of interesting to me how the worldmap solves some issues I had,
but also created other issues. :D The idea is great though - I'd wish we
could explore the other cities too!

Can't install Worldmap 12 [Tileconv on Linux]

I'm getting the following error when installing worldmap 12 on linux:

I'm installing the French version, but the English results in same error. With version 11 I can install flawlessly.

I'm using infinity_ui, could it be related?

WorldMap issues (but may be unrelated to WorldMap, and instead be at fault with other mods): suggestion to actually add an item called "The World Map".

I recently installed a total of 62 mods. I chose the huge worldmap, which was a mistake - I wanted
the smaller one. Is it possible to switch between the world maps at "runtime" e. g. when the game
is running? Anyway, this is not the reason I added the issue here.

I have two problems now: I can not find the swamp for the White Queen. And when I try to go
to Innershade, the game freezes and crashes.

Now: IN THE SAME GAME, I was playing fine, and I visited both Innershade, as well as White Queen,
and that worked. However had, recently I noticed the white queen area is gone from the map.
I didn't make any change to the installed mods, so no idea what changed. But then I tried to
reinstall the White Queen mod, hoping this would solve the issue. It did not fix it. And now
suddenly I can no longer go to Innershade.

I believe in regards to Innershade and Lava's mod, something is wrong with the map of Innershade
itself. It always causes some lag when I sleep there so I think something isn't quite right. But aside from
this, I also think there is something odd with the world map. Why can areas disappear suddenly?
Would it be possible to add another way to travel on it, e. g. rather than use the map, to
have some kind of dialog or something, could be an item, that allows us to travel to a
target destination? aka a work around over the above?

Sure I can use the cheat mode, but I'd rather have something that allows me to travel to
certain areas. This could be a simple item, a really huge map wraped up, and when the
actor clicks on it, we can perhaps select an entry on the bottom of the screen, sorted
alphabetically or so. Only entries are shown that were visited at the least ONCE; and that
can still be entered regularly, so the code has to be checked.

This could be extended towards all game engines that use it.

I don't know if there are enough resources and motivated people to work on this but it
would be quite nice to actually have a map. To restrict that item, it could perhaps be
only used when the full party is on the edge of a screen in an OPEN area (e. g. not
in dungeons etc...). Or in general wherever it would normally trigger the display of the
map.

PS: I also think that some mods interfere with other mods. There are awkward effects
that seem to be semi-random or change, depending on how the mods are installed.
Some mods always work well, others create problems.

Incorrent label for Candlekeep if installed on BG1EE

If this mod installed on BG1EE (didn't check with EET), Candlekeep label has both "Traveling Hours" and "Destination Unreachable" (can be checked immediately after the new game), see attached (in Russian). Probably "Destination Unreachable" should not be there.

Request - fft map icon for YS0390.are

Fishing for trouble does not use dedicated icon for the YS0390.are (Government District Westside)

The existing tbl could be updated with designated icon from new bpbgtmap.bam

Compatibility Table for the main README?

I am having a few issues with the mod "Fishing for Troubles"; most were reported by other
people already, so this is not the concern of the mod here.

But, specifically, there is one ice-quest where we supposedly have to go to some mountain
and fetch ice, or something. I get the info "worldmap is updated", but no new location is
shown. Note: this was before I install the mod here. I will next try to do another run with
this mod installed.

My request, though, would be whether some of you could add a table, that shows which
mods work fine for you guys, in regards to the mod here.

For instance, a table that also says "fishing for trouble" works fine, and the ice quest
location also shows up via this mod. Then I know that something on my side is wrong,
IF it works for other people. I would ideally like to see such a table, if it is not too much
work, so I can tell where a specific problem is. I assume I have this issue because I
install many mods (53 right now), and some interfere with other mods, and it is not
always easy to find out which mod causes issues. Some mods never cause issues
whereas others cause lots of issues. Thank you for reading this request.
