Tested the release file doschgpt.exe on a IBM 5155 similar setup to you using dos 5.0
Has mtcp already set up and working previously.
Configured the .ini file changed the ip address and set my key for chatgpt, run the proxy on my pc.
The issue is when try to run the provided binary chatgpt.exe nothing happens at all the cursor _ will blink and no output at all from the program. Tried the optional debug parameters but nothing happens after that have to do ctrl+alt+del pressing esc or control+c etc will do nothing.
Theres any error codes the software should return or something?
I'm very impressed with your work and thank you for very detailed and interesting article!
I've was curious about Sound Blaster Talker driver that you're using, so I disassembled "Read.exe" tool and found out there are debug information leftovers. And decided to write my own implementation of this API which can be found there:
Note that since there is no documentation on internals it's safe to use only DetectSpeech(), SetGlobals(), Say() and SetEcho() routines, but this should be enough. See "talk.c" code for example. Also please note that due to internal driver buffer limitation you can't voiceover text larger than 255 characters. But I hope this will be useful. Thank you!
Is there a way to get this client connected to ChatGPT in DOSBox? If so, would that require a specific fork of DOSBox or could it be done via IPX tunnelling?
