I just realized the same thing today. I tried editing the tags to read 01, 02 ... etc, but that didn't seem to make a difference.

I also tried the other alternative, to unchek the "Sort album by track number" checkbox. If i do that it sorts the files after filename, alphabeticaly, but it doesn't care for any numbers before the letters in the filename, witch makes it kind of useless if I haven't missunderstood something.

A file named 99 - aardvark.mp3 would always come before a file named 01 - xyz.mp3.

I always use two-digit decimals for tracks numers (01,02,...,10,11). This works fine with id3v1 tagged songs using MPDroid 0.6.9.
