I figured out what the problem is. It turns out I was using a Kubernetes cluster that was not properly configured and was somehow blocking the DNS. I tried my setup on Minikube and everything worked fine.

@AcidLeroy great you've found a solution already.
One comment from my end: I see you point the ingress to the headless service. This doesn't look correct, you should rather point it to the regular service as the headless service is only used internally by RIG for auto-discovery of all RIG nodes.
