The docs have been largely rewritten and they now make it crystal clear in the introduction section that this is not a daemon or a command line tool.

How do you suppose you would go about adding new jobs if it's running as a daemon? That would require something more elaborate?
I'm not trying to make yet another variant of the cron daemon. There are enough of those already.

I think good docs should have a chapter on how to run as a daemon. If you don't care, please close this issue.

What hints are needed? You run Python scripts like you run any other applications. The documentation of those specific tools should cover this.
