I have found that with recent Gnome, the delay auto start of Albert no longer functions. It results in my tray icon having a black background and only right-click functionality with the context menu appearing in the far left corner of the display, not pinned under the icon. I crafted a wrapper script (Bash) to delay the start up and edited the .desktop file to use that to launch Albert instead. If you stop and relaunch Albert after Gnome is 'up', it works as before. IMO, the new Gnome has a great many race condition scenarios now.

Thanks for your comment....
But I do not think that this comment makes sense in relation to this issue - I'm not even using Gnome - but LXQt - and it is drawing attention away from the original issue.
I believe that you should create a separate issue with the statement that you inserted into this issue. Thanks :-)
