Я плохо описал идею вар-2. Можно прятать диалог когда фокус редакторе и нажат Esc.

Так как сейчас не удобно - дилог перекрывает существенную часть текста (он же толстый). Тогда нужна явная команда, чтобы его прятать. У консоли такая команда есть "ui: toggle bottom panel".
Нынешний способ для диалога: перейти в него и нажать Esc - неудобный. Главный недостаток - нельзя перейти в текст без мышки.
Нужна команда "ui: toggle find/replace" только для показать/спрятать диалог, но не для перехода в него (это и так можно сделать по Ctrl+F и Ctrl+R)
И по команде "ui: toggle bottom panel" тоже не нужно сразу переходить в консоль, для это есть другая команда "ui: show panel: console"
