Could you use mvn package -DskipTests ?

Of course, but then i'm not running the tests that are failing, and i want the existing tests to be passing if i'm adding features. It's not a compilation issue. ;)

I can commit fix for line separator issue, but not for issue with file path separator.

Why not?
Can't you just use
File.separatorto make it platform-independent?

You could fix it by yourself or skip the tests.
I don't see any problem if you skip MessageBuilder tests while your changes do not affect it.

I'll probably do that, fixing them that is. I prefer a passing build when i'm tinkering.
