We need this event for fabricjs 3 but I will upgrade the fabricjs dependency to 5. I think they solved it with version 5. It is working without this event

I just tested it but I can't confirm that. With fabric 5.2.4 (and without listening to canvas:cleared), I get this behavior:
When I

  • draw 2 lines, one on the left and one on the right
  • then clear canvas
  • and finally use undo
=> A single line reappears (the one on the right). I have to use undo again to get the second line.
But I would have expected undo to restore the state before clearing the canvas.

And in 5.2.4, listening to canvas:cleared event doesn't fix the issue :/ In the scenario above, after using undo the first time it shows a blank canvas, second undo shows the line on the right and I need a third undo to get both lines.

So for now I'll keep using fabric 4.3.1 and monkey patch _historyEvents to get the behavior I need.
