Yeah that should work. But I'm not sure if it's necessary, last time I checked there was enough space to fit all tool icons even in a small window

Well i would work if i add some queries to the UI as it is now. Ive set media items to an absolute position of 16rem from the left. So it aligns with the content panel. Now on small app size it already gets squashed. Ill try to fix that and perhaps also work on media queries for even smaller app size. I have not test it yet if that works, but i think it wont have issues

The queries work just fine. I made a small test on the toolbar, it now works like in the prototype i did.
I did set it to move below the main icons when app window is less than 540px width.

On my 15in Macbook i can sort of keep blender aside if i want. Because ive been busy with the view menu. I can the slide preview mode≤ this uses bigger thumbnails. Its quite nice :)
This is the new branch ill drop tonight, ive also added better tooltips in the version.

This is how it looks if app is full width of the screen. Big bold images :) and the preview of the tooltip in the top right. I made them blue so they stand out more when say a regular menu is open.
