There’s -fdebug-prefix-map’s arguments on the second line that are not expanded. Have to scroll way right to see though.

Yes this is deliberate. They are delayed expand essentially.

The compiler sees them expanded.

Is this a standard trick?

I think I've seen occasions they expanded to empty strings when they shouldn't. Probably because I am invoking the compilers in the wrong way or wrong place.
