We are mimicking the Visual Studio behavior, It works the same, press esc and it will not complete it for you. Could consider an option to turn it off yes.

(might be another reason I don't use Visual Studio!)
However, note that Visual Studio knows about variables defined within the file, whereas FreePIE's autocompletion doesn't - it only knows about the predefined globals.
An option to turn it off would be great.

Yeah, our parser is not as advanced, or even close 💃
edit: You should use VS btw, its the best IDE that has ever been created. Once you install Resharper
