What device do you have and which version of Android runs on it? What tools are you using to copy the file to the phone (File manager of your operating system / Android File Transfer App etc.)? I am asking because i had similar issues when using the Android File Transfer App. The file just wasn't copied to the device, but then i used another tool to copy the file and it worked.

Thank you, that was indeed the issue: File Expert did not work; File Manager did work. That said, import from DoggCatcher did not work, import from Downcast (iOS) did work.
