Looks like you haven't set your Action Cable adapter to :any_cable. Check that you have in your cable.yml:

@palkan I've just faced the same problem. What do you think about raising an error running anycable RPC server for other than any_cable adapters?

P.S. BTW, I confused any_cable with anycable. Does it make sense to add an alias?

Hm, yep, makes sense; and it would be great to add a warning message in that case, smth like:

# action_cable/subscription_adapter/any_cable.rb
module ActionCable
  module SubscriptionAdapter
    class Anycable < AnyCable
      warn <<~MSG
        You should use "any_cable" instead of "anycable" in your "cable.yml".
        Next time we could not be so kind 😉
