I'm experiencing the same problem with the multiple copies from a single page, althought the IPP interface works fine for me. IPP gives npages as fourth argument to pstops, while the samba driver does not. Please see my post in cups.bugs. I have also posted a file that I created on a windows machine. As one can see in this file, the cupsjobticket copies=2 is correct, but the npage on the bottom isn't.

What version of SAMBA are you using?

What operating system are you using on the CUPS side?

How is SAMBA configured? (post smb.conf file please)

the PostScript file seems to be correct. It is OK that the
%%Pages: comment denotes 1 page, as the job has only one.

If the 2 copies get generated by the printer or by pstops
(and thus duplicating the page contents) will be decided by
the pstops filter on information from the PPD: if the printer is able to collate by itself or not. If the job has only one page or not ist not taken into account, though.

I still haven't been able to reproduce this, although any fix is likely to wait until the new 2k/XP printer driver is finished.

Re-file this if the problem occurs with the new CUPS Win2k driver (to be released later this year...)
