This will also be closed by arrow-kt/arrow#1898 because we can use the law almost unchanged again EitherT breaks these laws, and rightfully so. It is a design decision wether or not EitherT alternative accumulates errors or not. We have EitherT alternative modeled after ExceptT from haskell which has a monoid constraint and accumulates the error case. This breaks the right distributivity law. But according to https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Haskell/Alternative_and_MonadPlus it is not entirely clear what laws to apply and what not. There might be a case for and against keeping these laws.
