[Suggestion] Deleting command messages about sidekick HOT 4 OPEN

since my favorite Discord bot has been taken offline for the time being

I'd appreciate if you'd elaborate on this.

But it would delete the command line

So before the official bot API there were bots that you'd run on your PC and let them work on your behalf. This is not recommended by Discord anymore.

The newer bots that use the official bot API are supposed to work as a separate user (e.g. Sidekick is a separate Discord user). As such, they can't simply remove whatever message they like from the chat, no more than a normal user can.

Perhaps with admin permissions...

Is that how your favorite bot operated? With admin permissions?

The bot I have been using for my server is Storydice bot, and has been very much in beta. Because of life reasons the developer has opted to suspend development of the bot and have taken it offline so they don't have to worry about maintenance.

To answer your question, yes the bot did have to be given permission to "Manage Messages".
