@shrx You need to install CocoaPods first. Please see the How to Build section in README.

I did install cocoa pods. I followed the install instructions as best I could, however the last point is:
Then open
Gmail Notifr.Gmail Notifr.xcworkspace, build and run with Xcode
I don't have this file, I tried building the Mail Notifr.xcworkspace which is the only .xcworkspace file in the root of the cloned gmail-notifr-objc folder. Should there be another .xcworkspace file?

@shrx Sorry the README is indeed outdated. It should be Mail Notifr.xcworkspace. I'll update the README.
Which version of CocoaPods do you have?

0.33.1 is the most recent version. I see no reason why build would fail. Unfortunately my working machines are on 10.10 and Xcode beta already I couldn't reproduce this problem.
Are you able to build any other projects that using CocoaPods?

There're many. Search 'Podfile' on github would yield a lot projects.
