You can use fn option into your field, for example:

fn: function(val) {
  return '$ ' + val.toFixed(2);
}

Thanks brugnara, that code was very helpful. Sadly I have dozens of tables, each with custom settings (its a bit of a mess), so changing each field manually, in my specific case, would not be feasible.

I have edited line 188 in reactive_table.js as follows.

Template.reactiveTable.helpers({
'generateSettings': generateSettings,

'getField': function (object) {
    var fn = this.fn || function (value) { return value; };
    var key = this.key || this;
    var value = get(object, key);
    // added code start here
    if ( value.length == undefined ) {
        value = value.toFixed(2)
    } else {
        value = value;
    }
    // added code ends here

    return fn(value, object);
},

...

I suspect this is bad practice since I am modifying the source code. It produces the desired effect though, my table now renders as desired with trailing 0. I fear this solution fails to pass maintainability and perf standards, however. Any suggestions on better long term solution?

You can use a template if you want. See documentation for better examples.

Glad to help.
