DevChat is a clone of the very popular app Snapchat. In Mark Price's course on Udemy, I got to make some cool apps. Devchat is like Snapchat but just for Developers. In this app when a user sign's up they can record their snap's and post them to other users. This app was the first app that was fully implemented in Objective-C. This I thought was a great idea because in IOS the developer won't be always working with Swift so it is good to be comfortable with both. Firebase was again used for the Authentication, Database, and Storage. Firebase is a real joy to work with and as I have said previously I will look to use it in future projects. The biggest part of this app was the recording of the video clips. Apple provides a package AVFoundation. AVFoundation is used for video formats and other types of media. This package was really helpful by providing code and functionality that you could use just by calling it in your code. So, for example, they provide the code for changing from front camera to the back. The code for that example was really long and complex so I'm glad there provide a lot of functionality for working with the camera whether you taking pictures, or recording videos. I really enjoyed making this app because it was very interesting to see how building an app in Objective-C was different to Swift. This makes me more flexible as a IOS developer.
