It's currently working as expected - it only echoes the result when you call it manually.
It's intended to be called via a shell integration, and bound to a key (like ctrl-r). It's the shell plugin that handles the execution part.

I'm afraid in order to properly interact with your shell, the TUI has to be opened by our shell plugin. It only echoes the result, and the shell handles either inserting it or executing it

Sorry, but I don't understand what should I do in order to make 'atuin search -i' work.
