If you register an Action Filter just using the method as if it was a normal non-async method, then the filter will attach and run as you'd expect:

builder.Register(componentContext => new RequestLatencyTrackerActionFilter())
       .AsWebApiActionFilterFor<ControllerType>((actionSelector) => actionSelector.GetMyActionAsync(default(string)))) 
       .InstancePerApiRequest();

However, annoyingly the C# compiler will produce a warning because we're not doing anything with the result of an async method (even though it's an expression tree, so we never actually execute the code itself).

This is a bug, we need to add the necessary overloads for the filter registration methods (PRs welcome).
