hi! thanks for your interest!
There's no real roadmap since I don't have much free time for this project at the moment.
If you have something on your mind and would want to implement it, I'd be happy to see a pull request :)

I understand, time is something we never master ;)
Well, before diving in to the PRs I think what this project needs is a proper documentation, maybe even a wiki section (installation guide, tech. stack description, dev approaches & concepts used, some kind of roadmap ...).
BTW, what are your thoughts on the section regarding the budget ? What do you think a budget is and what did you have in mind when you were planning / brainstorming this module ?

Yeah, I need to work on documentation and describe how things work.
Regarding budget, the MVP for that would be an ability to create monthly limits based on tags and display a progress bar widget on dashboard. So for example you can set $1,000 monthly budget on groceries, $500 on eating out etc, and the widget on dashboard would show how much you spent already this month from each tag/category.
Another feature could be income budget, where you can set expected monthly income and the app would subtract all your expense budgets and show some kind of projection into the future, e.g. if you keep to this budget your net worth will be X in 3 months, Y in 6 months etc. It could be a graph similar to reports or maybe just a checkbox on Net Worth reports, e.g. "include budget"

Nice. Excited to say that I share the same thoughts!
BTW: I also noticed that you can use the accounts feature for ad hoc budgeting (create virtual accounts a.k.a. dedicated account for groceries, bills, utilities etc which is enough to provide a quick overview of finances).
Of course what you propose is aimed at the tags themselves and I agree this (they) would be a better / proper case for the budget module.
(just a thought) Do you think these periodical rules (limit, target, trend projection) can be applied equally to accounts as well - or will it just confuse the user ?
The periodic rules (monthly income) can be good fit for some sort of cron expressions which a user can set up based on his income events (configurable day of month etc).
What do you think ?

I see that the entities in the accounts module are already set up as tags! Great job!
Another thought that crossed my mind is that one could apply rules from the budget module into transaction types (transfer, income, expense) so that they can serve as warning signs / notifiers of events that are about to occur if one continues repeating similar actions.

I think it would be prudent to show an ERD which would explain basic entity relation dynamic made within the app, so we could understand general flows already made within the app / and enable easier planning in the future.
