az copy image extension doesn´t support tags about azure-cli-extensions HOT 5 CLOSED

In addition, a function like "--target-object-name" of the images extension will be also very helpful for me.

1. I don't understand the end goal with the tag - you want to set tags for the new images that the extension creates?
2. Setting the name of the new image (with target-object-name) - what is the use-case for this? also, the extension can create multiple copies so one name would result in multiple images with the same name in multiple regions... Is this the desired result?

Hi @tamirkamara, thanks for the fast response,

Regarding point 1: Tags are really important for use because we use an adaption of that also for different cloud provider. We have to set therefore a few tags for regions, kernel versions, productive or dev images and so one.

2. We have several use cases for an target image name, in general we prepair and test our images in one region and want to copy this in all other target regions.

• we have to add the target region in the image name like
• we create also customer specific images which have to re-named during the copy in all regions

I want to clarify - if the extension will have a parameter to note the target image additional tags like:
--target-tags tag1=value1 tag2=value2

Does that accomplish what you need?
