The query sample resembles some of the code from kusto_test.go, but looks like it got caught in some refactoring along the way?

yeah the sample in the readme is definitely not good enough. ive got some code that compiles and seems to work but my query isnt returning any results. not sure if its my query (which works in the webexplorer) or something else.

Figured out my issue which is authorization... Can you not use a service principal to auth for these queries?

The README.md now has quite a few more examples. However, with the new release you will find the documentation in the godocs greatly enhanced.
Because we are still invite only, you would need to spin up a local godoc server to see them.
Let me know if the new documentation is not sufficient in some area.
