SimpleProxy filter must be applied before socket is instantiated about restkit HOT 5 CLOSED

am n ot sure why you call make_connection before since you need to setup the connection socket before in some case? Could you provide me any trace about the error you have ?

You call make_connection before. I call it like the pasted code (after filters).

I need to go through a proxy otherwise my socket connection is blocked. The SimpleProxy needs to be applied first so that it connects to the proxy host and not the final host. Your code calls make_connection first which fails since the initial self.host is blocked.

Unless I misunderstand how SimpleProxy is supposed to work.

I think I see the problem, though I'm not sure your solution works either, since make_connection will create a new socket and won't use the proxy one.

Seem like a filter is missing a hook "on_connect" so it can be used by the proxy at this level. I will try to works on it. If you have any idea don't hesitate.

Adding the "on_connect" hook to Filter sounds like a reasonable approach.
