I'm having the same issue on nexus one & on hp touchpad (running cyanogenmod).  
Toggling tilt options has no effect on these controls.  I'll dig around the 
source code and see what I can find.

Works for nexus 1.  I think it may be related to a new phone tilt sensor 
architecture.  Other "tilting" games work fine.  Then again it could be just 
related to hp touchpad. 

FYI code around this orb logic is in GhostComponent.java.

I have been having this problem as well. I think it would be best if there was 
an alternate control scheme in place as a work around. Like maybe the option to 
drag the orb around instead of tilting.
