Thanks for the report. It does go against the grain with Gradle to have sources in a root dir like this repo does. Not too surprised that lock issues might crop up on windows because of it. Would be good to hear from another windows user if they can repro this.

@oculushut not user error—this is a Windows quirk. Workaround is to specify a cache folder somewhere outside the project folder with gradlew.bat build --project-cache-dir=../cache. Issue is explained here.
