I'd love it if there were options to some sort of default dataview query language, such as limiting to 100 results, so that partially formed queries don't end up indexing all files in my vault.
If you add LIMIT 100
at the end of your query, you get just those 100 entries... When you're satisified with your search, just remove it again.
