Same for us with attributes "thumb" and "track". All attributes should be prefixed.

The attributes also seem to conflict with the v7 appcompat library, as of release 21.0.0.

FYI this will be fixed in the upcoming version of BetterPickers library, this issue can be considered close as it is not an issue on this project I guess.

Error:Attribute "track" has already been defined

the error still exists
when I try to sync the project with gradle

you can change the attribute name . After change the name its working fine for me.

@smaspe what I've found is that the issue exists again in 1.5.4. Try falling back to 1.5.3, that fixed it for me.

@StringMon @smaspe I think the issue with 1.5.4 is coming from android-switch-backport 1.3.1. Update switch-backport to 1.4.0 (make sure you change all of your mavenCentral() references to jcenter()).
