Thanks for raising this! It can indeed happen!
Since iOS is using pthreads or mach semaphores (mach/semaphore.h aka semaphore_wait()) behind the scenes in NSCondition - I think it's quite possible to observe spurious wakeup.
If we would use dispatch_semaphore - that one has logic around it to specifically address this problem source here.
Looking forward to see a Pull Request, or I am going to get to it at some point before 1.2.2 cut.
