Hi @ReliablyAwkward and welcome to the smart connections community 😊

While things aren't necessarily where you want them to be right now with Smart Connections, it seems like we share the same vision.

The features it seems like you are looking for are actually what I'm working on now with the Smart Connect software. Currently, this software enables ChatGPT to perform actions within your obsidian vault. I expect the similar actions to be available in the obsidian plug-in starting with v2.2 (v2.1 is currently in early access beta testing with supporters).

Moving notes around is currently one of the things that is under development, particularly creating the user experience that allows reviewing potential actions that can be destructive, like moving/merging notes.

So while I don't think smart connections is currently at the spot that you want it to be, I believe that this project overall is going the direction that you were describing.

Lastly, I believe that having people like yourself with the shared vision of the future is going to be what helps make these things a reality. So I hope you are able to give Smart Connections a try, hopefully find some ways to make use of it currently, but more importantly that you are able to continue participating in the community and helping drive the progress towards that vision.

PS- I think if you start with the frame that everything is currently either broken or inadequate, that the documentation is either out-of-date or non-existent, and that you have the opportunity to contribute to make all these things better, then you and Smart Connections should get along nicely 😀
