build locally about deb-ruby2.1 HOT 3 CLOSED

You're info is a bit vague, I've had no trouble building on 12.04 last I tried. Make sure you use ubuntu server, otherwise you might need to tweak the dependencies. I usually use dpkg-unpacksource *.dsc and dpkg-buildpackage -uc -rfakeroot from within the unpacked source.

Maybe you could provide some info on where the build fails, like a gist with the build log?

Ohh, thanks for replying and sorry for not doing it quickly.
Ruby 2.1 was having issues with 14.04 and RVM includes some patches.
What I was really trying to get up and running was this: https://code.launchpad.net/~brodock/ruby-daily/stable and this https://code.launchpad.net/~brodock/ruby-daily/upstream

I found it to be appealing to have some sort of "CI" to build packages, but ultimately found it to be not straightforward.

The thing that I'm having trouble right now is to figure out how to make debuild-pbuilder apply debian/patches without e "source tarball".

I saw that there are some hooks on the repository here to use git-buildpackage, do you use it or have some more clues?

I'm at the point that it looks to be really close to get this thing working but clueless how to proceed.

Steps I have successfully taken today:

clone this repo
install rubygems-integration from [1] https://launchpad.net/~brightbox/+archive/ubuntu/ruby-ng/+packages
install devscripts
install build-depends from deb-ruby2.1/debian/control
cd deb-ruby2.1
debuild -us -uc -i -b
get a cup of coffee ;)
