I'm sorry you weren't able to quickly install the gem. I just tried a clean 4.1.7 Rails install and it seems to work without any problems, so I'm not sure what went wrong in your case.
The first error shows you're using an old gem version. 2.1.4 is the latest release which should fix the bootstrap issue.
I'm not familiair with the second error, perhaps you're using a Rails 4.2 beta? The inherited_resources gem has some known issues with it. Please see: activeadmin/inherited_resources#373.
Hopefully this gives you some guidance, if you have further questions I'm here to help! Regarding the migration rollback issues: I'll make sure these are fixed in the next release.

A new version (2.1.5) is just released and fixes the irreversible migrations error. I'll close this issue, if you need further help installing the gem, just let me know! I'm more than happy to help.
