yeah gotta deal with the ' // ' spacers in between the stupid flip/split/transform cards first

There is no // for CMC on flip/split/transform cards. I've edited it myself and it works perfectly.

the split cards definitely have them, as each side has a different mana cost

The CMC of a transformed card is always 0. Don't know if this helps but I thought I'd mention it.
