Why is the file naming convention being changed for new releases of library? about cdnjs HOT 6 CLOSED

I've been using the name exactly as provided by jquery. E.g.
http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.8.0.min.js

I think that using the version number as the folder name for CDNJS is a better practice

1.x.x/jquery.min.js

Yeah, I agree that @ryankirkman can't backtrack, but I feel like he's done a poor job planning out his CDN & repository. I'm going to have to avoid it from now on I'm afraid.

I built a wordpress plugin to automatically, just before render, swap any and all scripts found in a rendered page with CDNJS versions, but because of the inconsistency in naming conventions between versions and between libraries, there were too many problems and I'm calling it dead.

You should be using http://cdnjs.com/packages.json to auto generate CDN links.
