Thinking more – this sort of info will not be very accurate in terms of user activity. Because users can have connection established in browser tab but not actually being active (tab just left open while user is away from computer/device). Looks like this information should be based on useful target actions of user in application - i.e. navigating over application pages. With Centrifuge this can be separate client side method that developers can call whenever target action performed.
In this perspective this looks like a task for another service. Will try to consider it a bit more before closing.

Closing for now, there are many possibilities that Centrifuge library already provides and as soon as this can be solved by another software I think we should not blur our scope.
