eeprom data must be preserved, until another eeprom write operation overwrites the previous data.

When are we looking at this bug getting resolved? Are we still aiming at the end of the week (as stated by GeneApperson

Related to #65, but the linker-script change needs to be tested with the bootloader and EEPROM functions to confirm that the issue is resolved.
