We did not really try under py2.5. With this single line, does everything works fine ?

python 2.5 won't work. I would suggest to upgrade to py27. py25 isn't a supported Python version anyway.

- if this is the case, we need to say so in setup.py metadata + in the documentation. (by listing supported versions and possibly trhowing an error when started with an incompatible version)
- If the support is just a few syntax issues we can fix and @kuzmich is interested in this support, we should support 2.5

We specifically use an exception syntax to be compatible with python 3 and other things. I would prefer to not support python 2.5 at all since it's harder to maintain cross compatibility with it.
