For what it's worth, there is a pure-Go implementation of jqlang, so one could in principle support annotation converters written that way.

That may be more approachable for Cirrus users who aren't Gophers. =^.^'=

If you can process the annotation format you're dealing with in the task: by yourself, you can convert it to the [Cirrus Annotation Format](https://github.com/cirruslabs/cirrus-ci-annotations?tab=readme-ov-file#cirrus-annotation-format (which you seem to already done above), something along the lines:

task:
  run_script: make
  always:
    convert_script: cat deadnix-report.json | jq [...]
    deadnix_artifacts:
      path: report.json
      format: cirrus
