This should get resolved when I release civis-r 1.6.0 to CRAN.
Upon further review, the error is a result from roxygen2 updating the package DESCRIPTION file on the CRAN build servers. Because we call roxygen2 in package compilation, and the roxygen2 version on CRAN differs from how we generated the docs, it wants to make sure the package description is up to date. However, in the CRAN environment, this location is not writeable (justifiably so).
I confirmed that civis-r 1.5.0 successfully builds on windows, it's just failing the CRAN check here as a result of the roxygen2 update.
