I was locked to a 3 month old checkout. No idea why that was working before.

Great! That solves my issue. ✔️

Side note: I see that the theme has significantly evolved. Do you have some styles available that can enable the red hues + rounded edges? I can also fork the repo and lock to a particular commit, but would love to track upstream if possible.
