Crash on startup with "minimal" Internet. about foursquarex HOT 5 OPEN

10.6.3 / MacBook Pro / 802.11n
Never gets past "Finding your location".

Not sure what this comment is about, perhaps I wasn't clear enough. If the public wifi doesn't let your traffic out to the net, foursquarex crashes.

From both home and work, FSX has never gotten past the point:

There is no indication of a crash either in GUI or in log.

Both networks are
802.11n, with public, static IP on the outside and cisco fw/routers creating basically standard LANs handing out inside IPs. (10.0.1.x etc)

To clarify, the issue is if you're connected to wifi, have an IP, and have a route to an inaccesible gateway? Or can the client reach the gateway, but the gateway can't get get to the internet?

Doesn't crash now, however when the network is fully accessible, that is, traffic routes outside the local subnet FoursquareX refuses to become aware of this. Bringing up the main window, issuing a refresh does no good.

Just to be clear: Hop on a network that has local traffic only until you accept terms of condition which enables your outbound/inbound traffic off the local subnet. I've tested breaking this by just blocking traffic out with a local firewall.
